US government, Republicans-Democrats distribution.
Top, HOR; middle, Senate; below, Governors.
Republicans dominate all three layers, four including the
Presidency.

Does this mean that the US is veering away from statism?
No. The statist policy has not stopped, not stopping,
just slower under Republicans than Democrats. I remember my friend Joe Lehman
of MacKinac Center commented in a speech in 2004 in HK, he said "While the
Democrats want to bring America to socialism on a train, the Republicants want
to bring us there on a bus." :-)
I hope that Trump will reverse more statist policies. Early measures were already there -- tax cut, bureaucracy cut, some spending cut especially on "save the planet" agencies and programs.
