The Concerned Doctors and Citizens of the Philippines (CDC Ph) Five Points Agenda
1. Yes to Ivermectin as part of the official early treatment protocol and prophylaxis.
2. Yes to natural immunity, use of immune-boosting Vit C, Vit D and sunlight, exercise and proper diet.
3. No mandatory vaccination for all, explicit or implicit, give people the freedom to choose.
4. No to unscientific protocols such as mandatory face shields in public.
5. No to indefinite lockdown, Yes to focused protection of the vulnerables.

This morning, I attended the UPSE Alumni Assn. (UPSEAA) lecture on "Covid-19 Vaccines and Variants" and the speaker was Dr. Evalyn Roxas, Associate Professor at the Department of Medicine, UP PGH, also at the Department of Medical Microbiology, College of Public Health, UP Manila.
She is a bright and articulate speaker, she spoke for 1+ hour with lots of data and facts. But I have many questions on her lecture. I posted these six questions and comments in the chat box.
1. You said that Covid vax underwent various safety studies but Dr. Romy Quijano, probably your former teacher at UPCM, said that is not true. He wrote that vax need “five types of toxicology study: 1.Single and/or repeat dose, 2.Reproductive and developmental, 3.Mutagenicity, 4. Carcinogenicity, and 5.Safety pharmacology. However… most of the vaccine safety studies (e.g., reproductive and developmental, mutagenicity and carcinogenicity), have not been done.”
2. It is common among younger generation doctors to believe heavily in vax including unproven vax? I quote again Dr Romy Quijano, “Practically all scientific studies on vaccines and pharmaceuticals are done by the manufacturers themselves and governments accept these almost without any question. Almost all medical associations and patient advocacy groups are heavily dependent on pharmaceutical company sponsorships or grants for their operations and programs.”
3. Your term “anti-vaxxers” is disinformation. People believe in vax (anti-rabies, anti-tetanus, etc). You shd qualify “anti-Covid vaxxers” bec only Covid vax have zero long-term, many years or decades study and monitoring. And these Covid vax are really one-size-fits-all solution regardless of age, comorbidities, allergies? Regardless of variants? China, Alpha (from UK), Delta (from India), Why?
4. You said “vaccinated person does not present risk to unvaccinated people”, in the case of my immediate neighbor, that is not true. Healthy couple got vaxxed early June, week after they have fever, their 2 kids and mother in law got fever, all of them got Covid, positive. Husband was hospitalized at MMC mild pneumonia, the rest recovered at home. Many reports of vax injuries, see for instance vaers.com.
5. You said “vaccines work against new variants of the virus”, but this is not true in highly-vaxxed countries (60-70% of population vaxxed) like Israel, UK, US. Vax vs China or alpha variants may work but not for delta, soon lambda variants.
6. All throughout your 1+ hour lecture, nothing you said to rely (esp the young and healthy) on natural immunity, innate immunity, only vax immunity. So Dr. Romy Quijano is likely correct in his observation, “Almost all medical associations… are heavily dependent on pharmaceutical company sponsorships or grants for their operations and programs”? Thank you.
No answer from her because a short QnA followed and my Qs were not read. I'm sure she would have good response to my six points.
