Climate Tricks 68, High demand for climate money

Debates if not fights among climate negotiators and planet saviours over climate money is a perennial, annual characteristic of the annual UN FCCC talks. As admitted by this article from

The range of climate money being expected to be redistributed from rich to developing countries is from $100 B/year starting 2020 (just 1 1/2 years from now) to $5 trillion/year. Huge climate money and extortion is the defining characteristic of all these climate talks by the UN and other multilaterals.

With one of my idol scientists. Data and theory should conform with each other, always. If data does not show what theory says or predicts, the former should prevail, throw away the theory and it should go back to being a hypothesis. Among the important things I learned from these scientists.

From 0.44 C global temp. anomaly or deviation/departure from average 30 years in May 2017, down to only 0.18 C in May 2018. Yeah, planet Earth is getting hotter and warmer and sizzler.

Trump listens to guys like Dr. Spencer while Obama and HRC despise him. He's too independent minded, too science-based that only facts and data would guide his pronouncements (along with his boss Dr. John Christy, also few other scientists), not politics and govt funding (US or UN or WB, etc).

Trump transition teams in 2016 wanted to tap him to head EPA or as Presidential Science Adviser but he declined, he dislikes heavy politics up there so he stays at the Univ. of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). Only 2 teams in the planet provide global air temp analysis, UAH and RSS. Heavy, big data collected by NASA satellites every hour 24/7, from N hemisphere and the Arctic to tropics to S hemisphere and Antarctica.

Climate Tricks 63, The search for huge climate money in COP 23

Many if not all politicians and "planet saviours" from developed countries during the UN COP meeting in 2009 or so were dishonest when they pledged that their countries will give $100B/year to developing countries starting 2020. Now the latter are asking, "where's our money? Oodles of money?" And they demand further this week, "More money on top of $100B/year."

"In 2013, the World Economic Forum estimated US$5.7 trillion will be needed annually by 2020 for green infrastructure. The report suggests that public funds would need to increase to US$130 billion, an increase over the Green Climate Fund target of US$100 billion, to leverage US$570 billion of private capital." https://www.nature.com/articles/nclimate3343

No wonder Al Gore, the UN, WWF, etc. are so passionate to "save the planet". $100B/year is not enough, $5.7 trillion/year is the high target.

From Kyotoism to Paris climatism

On May 31, 2011, I made these observations:

Kyotoism, the philosophy that the Kyoto Protocol (KP) of binding carbon emission reduction by many rich and industrialized countries will help "save the planet", is dying. KP was adopted in 1997 in Kyoto, Japan, and became binding by 2005. It will expire by the end of 2012. Thus, the rush by the UN and many governments to have a new binding agreement that will supplant KP by 2013.

The point organization to prolong climate alarmism -- more environmental regulations, more carbon and energy taxation, more climate bureaucracies and frequent global climate meetings/junkets, more climate loans -- is the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UN FCCC). Thus, there have been huge global climate meetings called the Conference of Parties (COP) in the past, particularly the COP 15 in Copenhagen, Denmark in December 2009, then the COP 16 in Cancun, Mexico in December 2010. The next COP meeting will be in Durban, South Africa, this coming December 2011.

Here's the latest update: four countries, the US government (original non-signatory to KP) will be joined by the governments of Japan, Russia and Canada that will not sign any KP part 2. The reason is that "the Kyoto format did not require developing countries, including China, the world's No. 1 carbon emitter, to make targeted emission cuts."

So you have the world's biggest carbon emitters -- China and the US, plus Japan, Russia, Canada -- not signing another round of "Earth-saving" deep emission reductions. The UN officials and bureaucrats particularly involved in climate alarmism -- IPCC, FCCC, UNEP, WMO -- would be panicking by now. If many rich country governments are not convinced of the "urgent necessity" to save the planet, and these same countries have serious fiscal problems like huge public debt, the next move could be the reduction of UN funding, and that might affect all their globe-trotting lifestyle to scare the world.

This illustration possibly explains why public belief in AGW is flatlining or may be declining. When there is more drought, less rain, less snow, they called it "man-made warming". When there is more rain, more snow, they still call it "man-made warming."

Meanwhile, this UN Press Release in 2008 was cool, or hotly kidding. It quoted the head of the UN General Assembly that they projected 50 to 200 climate emigrants or refugees by 2010. Where are those millions of climate migrants/refugees last year?

Update:
Next month, thousands of climate officials, negotiators and planet saviours will burn tons of petroleum flying from anywhere in the planet to Paris, France, for the UN FCCC meeting, November 30 - December 11. They will mainly talk about climate money, who should give how many billions of dollars to whom, to "save the planet."

One big problem for the planet saviours: some of them will not accept billions of dollars a year. They want trillions of dollars a year.

The climate alarmism movement  has successfully dug its own hole and graveyard of disappointment, angst and anger. As the movement paints more scary scenarios, they further raise the cost of preventing that scary and fictional scenario. Now the  cost of climate extortion keeps rising.

Climate Tricks 37: Climate Money and the Scientific Dishonesty Behind It

This is the 2nd paper that I presented in a graduate class in Ateneo handled by my friend, Alvin Ang. The 1st paper was about some classical theories why government was invented.

People are not talking about several billion dollars of money here, they are salivating at trillions of dollars yearly.

Systems engineer Ira Glickstein made an estimate of how much of the past century's 1 deg F or 0.6 deg C warming, was due to nature and human modernization. His findings, about 0.5 C of it nature-made, and 0.1 C man-made.

The Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO) also shows warming-cooling cycle.
