As regular readers of this blog may have noticed, I am no fan of the China communist government. Being a one-party dictatorship, it has a long record or list of bullying not only its own citizens but also its neighbors.
China bullies Tibet, Uighur region, Taiwan, HK, Macau.
China bullies the PH, VN, other Asean countries in territorial dispute in the SCS/WPS.
China bullies Japan in the contested islands.
China indirectly bullies S. Korea via its continued support of N. Korea.
China has cold war with India over the borders.
And so on.
What Trump did:
1. Trump made implicit military defense of Taiwan.
2. Trump made explicit support of the UN Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) ruling (July 12, 2016) that SCS/WPS is international water, not China water.
3. Trump initiated The Quad -- US, Australia, India, Japan -- sort of soft diplomatic and military alliance vs China.
4. Trump frequently sent battle ships and aircraft carriers in SCS/WPS.
5. Trump penalized China protectionism via high tariffs and large-scale IPR stealing.
6. Trump declared persecution of Uighur as China genocide.
What Biden has done or not done so far:
1. Biden issued EO banning the terms "China virus" or "Wuhan virus."
2. Biden did not issue military defense of Taiwan even implicitly.
3. Biden did not send yet battleships in the SCS/WPS.
Biden plan is appeasement of China.
And people are clapping Biden ;-)
